This species also differs from A. adunca w h i c h has a much more slender proboscis w i t h a downcurved distal portion and much less proximal inflation. These t w o additional collections extend this distribution to the west o f South Island, N e w Zealand, in 1463 m, and to the north o f its previously k n o w n distribution, east ( 3 6 ° S ) o f North Island in 2 5 0 5 m.
